Car brand in bright brilliance
Ansorg sets the scene for vehicle variety in the Hyundai Flagship Store in Munich
Car dealerships are strong brand ambassadors made of steel, stone and glass. Due to their striking architecture the corporate designs of the car manufacturers shine into the urban landscape round the clock. In addition, the light takes on its direction-pointing effect with the shimmering gloss of the illuminated car bodies and the open architecture. Lighting concepts from the lighting specialist Ansorg also impart to the Hyundai’s Flagship Store in Munich the appearance of a crystal illuminated from the inside. As reliably as a navigation system the lighting and the architecture provide orientation and guide the customers to their goal at all times.
The lighting supports the brand
The Munich branch of the Korean manufacturer shines in the current showroom design. New materials and structural shapes reflect the dynamism and the innovatory spirit of the Hyundai brand. The customers enjoy a bright and modern ambiance over the complete display area. Through the interplay of design and the large window areas the boundary between interior and exterior becomes blurred. “The open architecture with a high incidence of daylight requires a well thought-out and powerful lighting solution”, explains Ansorg Sales Manager Thomas Bock. “For Hyundai we follow the corporate design and with cool light colour temperatures we bring the appearance of daylight into the showroom. A brilliant homogeneous lighting atmosphere is produced that is perfectly adapted to the vehicles. No matter where a car stands in the room, it appears so alive that the customers would like to drive off at once.” When the desire to get in and drive off has been aroused, the light has accomplished its first mission.
The lighting provides orientation
In the two-storey open interior rooms the lighting takes on the role of a navigator also during the daytime. “We would like to have a wide room without partitions and walls. At the same time all of the function areas such as sales advice or service must be clearly identifiable for the customers without any great signposting”, Zoran Dreznjak, Managing Director of Hyundai Autoarena München describes a further demand made by his brand on the lighting concept. With its accents lighting creates self-explanatory orientation without the openness of the showroom being restricted.
Ansorg brings together the requirements for product scene setting and room structuring for Hyundai in elegant clarity. Only the filigree lines of the power tracks extend, at a height of five metres, over the trapezoidal plate ceiling typical of car dealerships. The beam angles of the surface-mounted spotlights mounted flexibly on them are, by means of 3D facetted reflectors developed by Ansorg itself, exactly adjusted to the ceiling height. In that way the lighting designers produce a homogeneous brilliance at all positions in the showroom. A simple reflector replacement turns the same luminaires into accent lights. They improve the customers’ ability to find their way and emphasize the brand’s corporate design. The clarity increases without the ceiling appearance losing its uniform appearance. The integral recessed luminaires in the suspended ceiling panel give the lead car position the highlight effect it needs in order to make the top model a shining invitation for visitors.
For Ansorg the lighting concept is always a part and continuation of the brand’s corporate identity, the specifications are met with great precision. That which develops its appeal with simple elegance in the car dealerships is the result of a high degree of engineering perfection and of sensitive adjustments. In that way for Hyundai in Munich a lighting concept was also produced that, with the full scope of functions, does not consume more energy than 9.2 watts/m2.
